“For my determined purpose is that I may . . . progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly” (Philippians 3:10 AMP).
Happiness is found in getting to know God a little bit better every day.
In Philippians 3:10, Paul said, “For my determined purpose is that I may . . . progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly” (AMP).
Paul became “deeply and intimately acquainted” with God because he had a relationship with him and took the time to get to know him.
You don’t become “deeply and intimately acquainted” with God by accident. As Paul says, it’s a “determined purpose.” It’s something you have to do something about. You have to invest your time in it.
Make time for God! If you set aside 10 or 15 minutes of focused time with God each morning, you’ll begin “understanding the wonders” of God with greater clarity. And you’ll begin to experience greater happiness in your life.

The above words written by Rick Warren and referenced from Philippians 3:10  are some of the most beautiful words I have ever read! God wants us to become “deeply and intimately” acquainted with Him because in doing so, we tap into His great love for us.

His great love will carry us through the dark times and during the light times, we will be able to enjoy those times so much more. And, what could be better than to know our Savior?!

When you know someone, really know someone, you are able to tell him or her anything and not worry about what they will think about us!
The best ways to know God is to read the Bible—especially the New Testament, pray and then share The Word with those wanting to know more about Him.

It has only been recently that I have come to truly know the Lord my God as Savior. Having gone the “highs and lows” with Him, I now feel closer to Him than ever!

No matter what you are going through—good or bad—He is there waiting for you to come to Him. Don’t hesitate in becoming closer to Him because once you do, you will experience happiness and peace that you have never experienced before!

  1. Very good article. The more we know of God the more we will be in tune with Him. I especially liked the 15 minutes in the morning. We should be thinking of the Good Lord throughout the day. The Good Lord is the source of everything. Get to know the Lord.
