Goes with you wherever you go!

Here are good words to remember: "Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
How many times have you and I been afraid of someone, some thing or event and felt so alone? Perhaps it was an upcoming surgery that scarred us or it was a co-worker who was causing a problem.
Isn't it comforting to know that no matter where you or I go, God is there with us? Maybe there are time we think that God doesn't care about us or even paying attention to our ordinary lives. Remember what God told Joshua? He said, "The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." So you see, we don't have to feel alone at all. God is with us; He is working out our problems and we usually don't realize it.
I have had chronic back pain for years and in the last six months I have struggled with insomnia. Now, I know that it will still happen on occasion; that is the way I have been built. However, the good Lord is giving me advice on how to lessen the pain and how to get better sleep. I am exercising more, using certain medications that help ease the pain but more than anything, I am trusting in God to show me the way--and He is!
I am getting on my knees at night and praying to God. I haven't done this in years but I am going to stay with it because my connection with God is closer and He is  helping me to enjoy my life more. I encourage anyone who is struggling in life--with pain, sleep or whatever it is--to get closer to God.Start reading the Bible more, pray throughout the day and more than anything, trust in Him--no matter what problems you have!
Keep these words in mind, too, whenever you feel afraid or unloved, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.... From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do. No one can reverse my actions.Isaiah 43:1-3, 13
Most importantly, trust in God. No matter what is going on in your life, He is there! God goes where you go.

  1. Excellent article. We should always seek God first in anything we do whether our health, our finances, our children. God is always with us.
